Water Is Precious

In room 18 we are learning about Water, and how it is precious. I have learnt that when you put salt into water it dissolves. I really like  doing the experiments. I am learning by listening to Mrs Whyte, and doing the work she gives us. My next step is to research some things about water.

100 Word Challenge!

One dark stormy night, Alex was under his blanket with a torch reading. He heard loud thunder and saw bright lightning. Alex loved storms. He decided to go outside and investigate. He walked through the hallway and out the door. It was flooding. He continued to walk. He felt the bottom of his favourite orange pyjamas getting wet. He found that the pond in his backyard was bigger than usual. He jumped in and swam to the other side, avoiding his pet fish. He felt something strange pushing on his arm. It was his mum waking him up for school!

My Reading Goal

My reading goal was originally to read 100 books by the end of the year, but I've already read 56, so instead of picture and chapter books I've cut it down so that I have to read at least 20 picture books as well.

Math Game Yesterday

My favourite maths game that we play in class is Close Call. We are split into 2 teams. We have a board, 10 counters, a piece of paper, a pen and 1 dice that starts at 0 and goes to 9. We take turns rolling between both teams. We get a number to try round up to. When we roll the dice the number we get we get to choose on the board, either (if you got 4) 4, 40, 400 or 4000. The number we choose we write down on the piece of paper.
